Tesla, according to recent reports, has experienced another significant departure within its sales division, this time losing Vice President of Sales and Service for North America, Troy Jones. His departure followed a 15-year tenure with the leading electric vehicle maker. The announcement comes on the heels of Tesla's noticeable sales decline in H1 2021, particularly in major markets such as the U.S. and China. Separately, CEO Elon Musk resigned another top sales executive, Omead Afshar, who oversaw sales in North America and Europe, less than a month ago.
Despite current hurdles, Tesla is pushing global expansion with its debut showroom in India, opening up access to a new potential market. Investors and analysts are keenly awaiting the second-quarter results due next Wednesday, which should shed light on the status of Tesla's robotaxi program and the delay in their commit ment to launch a more affordable model. The company's shares have seen a drop of over 20% since this year's commencement, with shares down by 1% in recent trading.
