Jensen Huang, Nvidia's CEO, criticizes that Trump administration policies limiting the company's sales to China, also discussing the country's growing AI capabilities.

During a recent conference call, Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, criticized the Trump administration's policies that limit the prestigious tech firm's product sales to China. Presented on the tail of Nvidia's financial results, which showed a multi-billion dollar deficit to revenue partially attributed to export limits on the company's H20 chips to China, Huang strongly stated his stance.

He argued in favor of Chinese innovation, claiming that the trade restrictions have, in reality, encouraged China's development and scalability in the tech industry. He went on to highlight the importance of America's presence in the global AI market and warned that obstructing China from American competition merely strengthens their standing internationally, while simultaneously weakening America's place in the trade.

Furthermore, Huang debunked the assumption that China is incapable of producing its own AI chips, stating outright that such belief is "clearly wrong". He also expressed approval regarding the Trump administration's retraction of the Biden administration's AI diffusion rule, which poses additional export limitations on AI chips, notably towards countries that are not in alliance with the U.S.

Huang concluded the remarks on a note of optimism, stating, "President Trump wants America to win, and he also realizes that we're not the only country in the race." His comments were made following the administration restricting software firms from selling to Chinese companies, a news that negatively affected shares in the sector.
